5 Golden Rules for business websites on Ebay
Now you are ready to go, you have decided to take one step further and go online with a business website. Ebay is one of the good places to hire a web designer/programmer. But you have to be very careful, there are plenty of unprofessional so-called "web designers" or "web design companies" here on Ebay and they usually offer "incredible", "amazing", "crazy money-making", "Google AdSense" websites and online shops for a friction of the real market cost. While most of these auctions sound exciting, actually offered are mostly poorly coded websites without any background knowledge of web design, search engine optimization or in some extreme cases, without any visual concept (for example, 5000 direct links to other websites). Most of these websites have some very basic coding mistakes, even for the beginners in the web developing. Hence

Reusing packaging...
I thought I would write a quick guide about packaging and re using jiffy bags...
Who has ever seen a listing where the seller has mentioned 'items will be dispatched in a new jiffy bag'? maybe you may have, maybe not, what i was wondering is, how is that a good thing? with so much used packaging and jiffy bags that most ebayers have knocking around, why pay for trees to be cut down in order to produce more jiffy bags?
Surely its absurd, isnt it? Ok so you want to send items in pretty white prestine jiffys and impress youre buyers, and ok yes it would be nice to receive beutifully new clean looking deliveries,in an ideal world,

Selling Tips - Writing a catchy Title for your auction.
Writing a Catchy Title for your auctions will get you more viewer to your items... The more viewers you have the more likely you'll have a sale at the auction end (and for a higher price!)
Along with the pictures on your auction, the wording, both title and description, of your listing is paramount to a good ending price.

I am not in China neither I am Chinese. I am British and I live in London. I am being stalked by one individual just because I wrote a reviw. Everybody has a right to write one - about their own unique experiences about any item. I wrote mine and I stand by it and will not remove it. There are 2 sides to every story.

USE A USED ENVELOPE SAVE THE PLANET GET A PP DISCOUNT
Ever been infuriated by the amount of new envelopes that come through your door every time you buy an item from Ebay, or elsewhere on the internet? You know that the envelopes have caused the destruction of yet more trees, released tonnes of CO2 back into the atmosphere and created countless amounts of extra carbon in a colossal Carbon Boot Print! Never bind a lowly Foot print. And what often happens when people get the new envelopes? They throw them away and the cycle begins again. Many months ago I decided to introduce a Used Envelope Discount policy whereby buyers can request that their item be shipped in a used Bubblewrap envelope as a way of playing my part in counter-acting this seemingly unstoppable tide. And whats more, as an incentive, I offered a 25p reduction on P

Commercial espresso coffee machines - BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!
If you're considering bidding on a commercial espresso coffee machine for your business be warned!
These machines are nearly always subject to the laws regarding "pressure vessels". The pressure vessels act requires that machines like this are regularly inspected and tested to ensure that they are safe for your staff and customers!
Make sure you get a current certificate for the machine and ask to see the "written scheme" - a kind of log that states what has been done to the machine and when service is expected.
New machines should come with a "certificate of conformity" stating that the build quality exceeds standards set by the European comunity plus information about test pressures etc to help inspectors when they call to see your equipment.
With hundreds of manufacturers making an ever increasing number of models you should also consider the spares situation and back-up.
Other machines that can fall under the pressure vessels act regulations include compressors, dry cleaning equipment,

NEW SELLERS GUIDE TO POSTAL CHARGES
Take a look at several similar items for sale on ebay, and you will notice a large range of postal charges. These range from fair, reasonable prices to downright dishonest sky high charges. When setting a postal charge for your item, take a trip to the Post Office and get some items weighed, it won`t take long. You can use these items as a guide. If you only sell a few items, all of a similar size and weight, eg comics, then you should charge the same for each item. This should be the actual postal charge plus a LITTLE for packing. Jiffy bags only cost 25p or so if you buy them from a large suppliers.
REMEMBER nothing winds people up more than greedy postal charges. A fair postal charge will lead to more bids and more sales. Always use a signed for method of postage for anything valuable, over say

Pems_sales07 Toro lawn tractor, iPods Lyle Scott scam
Looks like a scam going on with this seller, selling these toro lawn tractors, iPods and Lyle Scott golf jumpers. Only accepts payment by bank transfer - not in any way safe, or guaranteed of comeback - and the listings have been copied from other users' sales. Also, all his feedback - barring the negative I gave him - is for buying 1p eBooks. Looks very, very dodgy indeed. If you've won from this guy, I'd really recommend holding off on payment for a week or two until you see what happens - looks very similiar to previous scams.

Parcel posting Risks, read before choosing a courier!
Read any couriers terms and conditions before you buy a postal service from them. I had a parcel deliverd by eparcelz who are advertised on e-bay.
It was collected and delivered but arrived damaged inside. As the parcel was collected by Parcelforce i immediatley put a claim in. Three months later after chasing them many times they told me that they would pay it but i had to get eparcelz to put the claim in. I sent the details to eparcelz they did not reply until i chased them and they said as it was after 7 days they would not deal with this claim. It would have cost them nothing, the point to learn is that although terms and conditions exist it said nothing about a 7 day rule. It does state however that you have to sign that its damaged when delivered. so you must make the driver wait whilst you unpack it!!! Or no claim!!
So make sure that you check feed back from members who have made a succesful claim against their courier before you risk your valuble goods.
Things do go wrong its how they are resolved that matters!

How to Assemble a Mannequin
Mannequins are relatively easy to assemble. Here is a quick guide to assembling your
mannequin. I am a retail consultant with an interest in
mannequins. I am fast becoming a large collector of these interesting
items.1. Wear GlovesWhen
handling your mannequin, wear gloves to avoid surface scratches from
rings that you might wear on your fingers. If you choose not to wear
gloves, always make sure your hands are clean. This will protect the
mannequin from surface dirt.2. Assembly For Standing MannequinsStart by securing the base. They all differ in how, but it is not rocket science to attach the rod (which goes into the foot or calf) to the base. Ensure the components are screwed in safely. Some mannequins have the legs joined together and some have them apart - either 2 legs straight or one leg that incorporates the pelvis. Add the leg with the fitting for the stand first, then join the other leg on.Next comes the torso. Again depending on the type of fitting, some twist on whilst others just sit on top of the pelvis. Ensure the torso does not wobble and that there are no gaps between torso and pelvis. Then add the arms and hands. Sometimes you have to position the mannequin arm above the head so that you can lower it slowly into place. Add the hands and voila! Your mannequin is ready and you are ready to dress it up. That is the fun bit!3. Assembly For Sitting MannequinsThe base for a sitting mannequin is normally a fibre glass stool, but I have found it useful to assemble the sitting mannequins on a soft chair / sofa for extra protection, then moving it into place afterwards. You can assemble it on the floor - and if you enjoyed the game of twister as a child then memories will come flooding back! Once you have chosen your spot for assembly, attach the legs to the torso.
Then add the arms and hands. Sometimes you have to position the
mannequin arm above the head so that you can lower it slowly into
place. Add the hands and voila! Your mannequin is ready and you are
ready to dress it up. Again, that is the fun bit! Please visit my profile to see more mannequin guides. If you would like any more advice

Bosch KTS on EBAY update 24/11/07
Beware of sellers listing any diagnostic tools on Ebay , This may sound obvious but I can assure you that the follow up emails look very convincing, I would advise that nobody buys off a seller who is new, has low or zero feedback unless they are certain that they are genuine, presently Ebay do not appear to safeguard buyers sufficiently and are not aware of fraudulent activity until a buyer has possibly parted with there money.
Hopefully Ebay will post this and remember if it sounds too good to be true then it is.

Postal Strikes Paypal and eBay Protection for Selers
Hi
This is my second guide. I hope other ebay sellers like me can relate to this and maybe also ebay buyers can understand a bit more of the pressures and stresses ebay sellers have when trying to make an honest living..
Recently we have had a spate of postal strike by Royal Mail and this has caused me and my customers no end of problems and complaints which i as a seller am very worried by.
I posted over 100 items during the period of 1st to 9th of october and these items have been delayed by an incredible 3 weeks. They have only just started showing up after the 27th! Now i have several gripes here....
1) i understand why royal mail are doing this and sympatise with their cause but i also feel that post should be dealt with in date order. i have posted hundreds of items after this date and they all arrived in a couple of days. Surely Royal Mail should deal with my post that is delayed first before dealing with new post, but obviously not. My items have been sat at a back of a warehouse somewhere for 3 weeks, whilst i the seller have been trying to liase with Royal Mail and my understandably unhappy customers.
2) Paypal Protects the customer but never the seller and it is us sellers who earn Paypal money through using them! Surely we need better service as we are the income providers. I pay over

TCL Brick and block cutter
There are several problems associated with block and brick cutting. When constructing a building from bricks or blocks it is necessary to cut bricks to the required size, for example, positioning at the end of a wall. For smaller building units a skilled bricklayer uses a brick hammer to obtain the required size of brick. For larger units, a bricklayer uses a flat-bladed chisel that is placed over the block with a cutting edge in the desired position, and hits the block using a hammer. When cutting facing blocks, the size of cut must be measured and marked on the block which is then cut. This is time consuming and requires a significant degree of skill and practice to achieve a quality finish.

Rogue sellers have similar selling procedures
I have noticed a similarity that dishonest sellers have in common, here are some points to watch for when bidding with a potential criminal.1. They do not answer questions that may disclose faults in their item.2. They do not send you the photographs showing these faults3. Slow on reply4. Short reply lacking detail5.If they do not send you additional photos it is very possible they do not have the item and it is a possible scam beware.6.Read their feedback for ANY DISHONESTY in their transactions with other sellers, a leopard does not....7. Do not bid.8 Look very closely at any photos published that may reveal faults, if you notice something ask the seller to clarify your concern.9. Small poor quality photos could be a deliberate attempt to conceal the truth.10. If you can't see what your buying don't buy it.11. If when asked for more photos the answer is we do not have anymore don't bid.12. Ensure the seller knows how to pack it, is your item and you have every right to ask and insist on the way it is packed..13. Long delays in answering are usually an indication things are not right.?14. Honest sellers will answer all questions quickly and always be helpful and courteous.
